22.07.2022A fun scene but it cheats literally since we never see how Newman switched his 4 cards.

22.07.2022Paul Newman is a great actor in this flick. Robert Shaw is beyond great. He is perfection! He could be drunker than a platoon of marines on pay day and still pull off an academy award performance. He's done it many times. His performance in Jaws was other worldly. A dadgum shame he didn't get the oscar for Quint. He should have won it alone for his rant about the Indianapolis and the sharks. He scared the shit out of a generation of beach goers. He scared the shit out of me. No one acts like him any more.

19.07.2022The production couldn’t even get the hairstyles correct because the actors refused to have their hair faded and tapered as the period called for.

19.07.20221. Written so well. Nobody says more than they need to. Newman reacts, but just enough.
2. In real life, the smoke would’ve been so thick you couldn’t have seen faces. But, they gotta make a movie.

17.07.2022This great scene is iconic in modern film history … Yet whoever added the captions needs some english & spelling lessons — they are the worst. Get full enjoyment out of the video, pay no attention to the very poor work below. INEXCUSABLE …

17.07.2022besides having to win the last hand, Shaw has to know if Lonegan has drawn a jack initially .if he had, the whole deal would have been blown. you follow?
